Fiamma Colonna Montagu has worked as a documentary maker and artist since leaving Oxford University in 1990.
From 2002 she has specialised in making large scale ceramic forms and installations. In 2003 a major installation of works was commissioned for 'The Gallery', Vero Beach, Florida. This has been followed by many private and public commissions including 'Cloud Trees 2006, 'Blue' 2008, 'Story Tree 2009', 'Moon' 2009, 'Moving Vessels' 2011, 'Shoal' 2012.
In 2009 she founded All Visual Arts, with Joe La Placa and Mike Platt. She is currently working on a new series of works in her studio near Oxford.
'As with much of her work, the beauty lies in the strange mood created by these monumental forms. This is in part down to her extraordinary use of ceramic as a medium, rarely seen on this scale. It is also due to her use of simple forms to create a personal vocabulary of symbolic objects. These entice the viewer to walk amongst them as if in a dream landscape or on a theatrical stage with a naturally heightened drama or intensity'
'Her work is a combination of Brancusi and Tony Cragg'.
